gm!
Today, bringing you some Melodic House/Techno, plus some other tings.
For lack of a better term, these artists make emotionally charged music (a.k.a. sadboi EDM); more vocal heavy than typical house music and great for vibing purposes.
RÜFÜS DU SOL
A personal favorite. In their concerts, they found a way to do virtually all instrumentations live (pretty rare amongst electronic music acts). Would highly recommend seeing one of their shows, even if you don’t like this genre.
*Note: Should honestly be required listening. It’s over nine minutes long and every second is worth it. One of the greatest songs of all time.
Live version of Make it Happen/Surrender is insane
Set: Live from Joshua Tree 2020
Elderbrook
More “chill” compared to Rüfüs Du Sol. Does everything himself while “looking like a GTA character”.
Set: Elderbrook — Live from the Acquarium 2020
Gorgon City
Bit easier to dance to than the previous artists, with some UK garage influences.
Set: Printworks 2022 (yes, this is the club from “The Batman”)
Abroad
For the last one, featuring an up-and-coming artist. Sounds like a cross between Rüfüs Du Sol and Bob Moses.
News
Ultra Music Festival (Miami) just came out with their Stage 1 lineup for 2023 and it looks ridiculously gud.
UMF is arguably the best EDM festival in the United States. Particularly excited seeing Eric Prydz HOLO show in the lineup.
What We’re Listening to Now
Currently enjoyyyying Axwell remodes. Axwell is an OG and a member of Swedish House Mafia.
And arguably his best work…
Nice list. Especially the live set links.
That Gorgon City Sofi Tukker collab was fire doing lockdown.
